Valances can be made to match your other home accessories
Due to recent inquiries from customers who bought Detergent Bottle Aprons and other home accessories, we have decided to offer simple matching valances. These valances will not be pre-made and stocked. Instead, if you want a valance, you will need to contact us about the fabric you want and the size you need. If we have the needed yardage available in your fabric choice, we will then prepare a private webpage for you, with the appropriate PayPal buttons so that you can purchase your valance(s). Below is a picture of a valance I made for my own kitchen many years ago. My window is 44" wide (including the window frames), and the finished valance is 86" wide from side to side. It is gathered on a standard 3/4" wide curtain rod that attaches to mounting brackets on either side of the window frames. There is a ruffle of about 1" at the top, above the curtain rod and a hem of about 1/2" on the bottom. The entire finished height of the valance is 11" from top edge to bottom edge.

Generally, it is recommended that you use a width that is 1-1/2 to 2 times the width of your window, for gathering. Ultimately, it is a matter of what your preference is, regarding how full you want it to look.
